Algebra: Chapter 6-4, p 276 and Chapter 6-5, p 279
Factoring `x^2 + bx + c` and `ax^2 + bx + c`
I don’t like the approach the textbook uses to factor generalized trinomials or quadratics. Remember that these are of the form `ax^2 + bx + c`. Using the CROSS and BOX method as I demonstrated this morning is I think, a little less complicated. I hope you copied down the 3 examples that I did as well as problems 27 and 29 from Chapter 6-5!
This stuff is confusing, so I tried to make it as clear as possible. I created my own podcast that you can add to your iPod. Imagine carrying MrE around you whereever you go. THAT is pretty scary!
Here is a link to my podcast on iTunes about the BOX and CROSS METHODS. Here are my notes (the goldenrod handout) that I passed out today!
Math-8: Chapter 8 Review
The homework for tonight is to do the Chapter Review, pages 424-426, the ODD problems. Bring your questions tomorrow for the TEST!
