Algebra: Chapter 7 Review, p 350
We use Form A version of the test as a review for tomorrow. You have the answers from the key. Make sure that you finish the test at home, it is in lieu of the homework on the board.
Remember, lines are parallel if their slopes are the same and they have different y-intercepts, `m_1=m_2`
Lines are perpendicular if the product of their slope = -1, `m_1 * m_2 = −1`.

Solving Inequalities (Adding and Subtracting)
We solve 1-step inequalities (equations with <, ≤, > and ≥) just like we do those that have an = sign. We do exactly the same process regardless if the numbers are whole numbers, fractions or decimals. Just make sure to USUALLY add/subtract before you multiply/divide.
When plotting these inequalities on a number line:
- For the < and > inequalities, we use an OPEN circle, this signifies values very close to the inequality but not quite.
- For the ≤ and ≥ inequalities, we use a CLOSED circle, this signifies that values INCLUDING the number make the statement TRUE.
